Changes to the budget included eliminating Staff Requests, Reflections, and reducing the budgeted amount for Founders Day Dinner, Hospitality, printing and reproduction costs. There have been several improvements inside and outside of the school. The new sign is in place and the playground has been resurfaced. We would like to welcome our new custodian Mark to Washington. Students have begun taking MAPS tests. A question was asked about sharing the results with parents. Mr. Bonds explained that teachers will share the results at parent/teacher conferences. Results of MAPS tests help teachers focus on areas that need improvement to help our students reach their goals. Mr. Bonds has been receiving a lot of positive feedback about the new Spanish teacher, from parents and students. Parent/teacher conferences will occur earlier this year (mid-October) to help give parents information earlier to provide feedback earlier in the school year. Information will be sent home regarding the conferences. Committee Reports: Laura K. presented several different fundraising options. Those in attendance voted to approve a Kringle/cookie dough fundraising sale in October and a Mr. Zs pizza sale in the Spring. New Business: Chairs needed for Bake Sale coordinator duties include coordinating bake sale for Tuesday November 8, for Election Day. Co chair needed for the Talent show in May 2012. PTA Co- Secretary needed this year. Birthday Bunch will now offer the students a coupon for a bag of popcorn that they can redeem on Friday popcorn days.
